Anchor Packaging’s Embraceable package has been named the winner of the Institute of Packaging Professionals’ (IoPP) 2015 AmeriStar Design Excellence Award.
Celebrating companies who “change the face of packaging,” the IoPP judges competitors based on innovation, product innovation, product protection, economics, performance, marketing, and environmental impact. Judges agreed that Anchor Packaging’s Embraceable hit the marks in all these areas. This is the second award that Embraceable took home, joining Anchor Packaging’s host of other innovative products.
Embraceable is an 11” x 8” black, oval platter designed and patented with a locator ring in the bottom to hold a standard 8 ounce squat paper food container, according to a press release. It’s designed to hold chili, soups, oatmeal, grits, mac & cheese, and more.
The clear, anti-fog, vented PP lid forms a leak-resistant seal on the platter, which eliminates the lid for the paper container. This saves expense and reduces the amount of packaging consumed, ultimately reducing carbon footprint.
Embraceable works well with hot foods held under heat lamps, chilled ready-to-heat meals in the microwave, and for assorted hot and cold food applications, thus reducing SKUs.
