The Specialty Food Association is adding a litte bit of star power to its upcoming entrepreneur-focused event. Popular TV Chef and Co-Host of ABC's The Chew, Carla Hall, will be keynote speaker at this year's Specialty Food Business Summit in Chicago, IL, April 2-4.
"I'm thrilled to join the Specialty Food Association and this group of small business entrepreneurs," shared Carla upon the news. "I hope to provide inspiration and insight to help make their entrepreneurial journey as exciting as my own."
Hall has had a storied career in both the food industry and television, having been a contestant on Bravo's "Top Chef" and "Top Chef: All Stars." Over her career, she has launched several businesses, according to a press release, including a catering and an artisanal cookie company. Her first restaurant, Carla Hall's Southern Kitchen, opened in June 2016. The release describes her approach to cooking as a blend of classic French training and her Southern upbringing, giving a twist on traditional favorites. She has authored two cookbooks: Carla's Comfort Food: Favorite Dishes from Around the World and Cooking with Love: Comfort Food That Hugs You.
The Specialty Food Business Summit is designed with the goal of helping industry professionals better their understanding of digital marketing, e-commerce, operations, and food safety. In addition to Carla's keynote, the Summit will offer seminars in two concurrent tracks, tabletop exhibits, and networking opportunities.
