The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association Scholarship for Growing the Future broke records this August. It successfully contributed $103,000 toward the education of 91 employees at approximately 30 of its member companies.

Jonathan Whalley, Education Coordinator, IDDBA“This scholarship is a great resource for students juggling academics and jobs while trying to tackle increasing tuition bills,” said program coordinator Jonathan Whalley, Education Coordinator, IDDBA. “For our members, this is a great incentive to help retain quality team members throughout the school year and perhaps setting them on a rewarding career path after college.”

The program, a significant benefit for members of IDDBA, aims to support students who work in the dairy, deli, and bakery industries on their path to building a successful future while pursuing a college degree.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • High school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students.
  • Students who work for an IDDBA-member company.
  • Students who work at least 13 hours/week during the school year (not just breaks).
  • Students with a 2.5 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale.

Scholarships up to $2,000 are available two times per year. The next application deadline is January 15, 2017. For program information, or to apply, visit iddba.org/scholarships.
