Atalanta Corporation Gears Up for American Cheese Society Conference; Katie Baldwin Shares

ELIZABETH, NJ
Tuesday, July 19th, 2022

It’s a celebration! A celebration of cheese, in fact, as the American Cheese Society (ACS) Conference is preparing to gather cheesemakers and industry experts from far and wide for an advantageous event. One of the revered producers in attendance will be Atalanta, which has a diverse lineup of new items ready to take the spotlight.

Katie Baldwin, Brand Marketing Manager, Atalanta Corporation“We have new, on-trend flavors that we’re excited to share and get feedback on, including Turmeric & Black Pepper, Salted, Chipotle, and Jalapeño Paneer,” says Katie Baldwin, Brand Marketing Manager at Atalanta Corporation, sharing some of the details of the company’s upcoming showcase. “We’ll also have two new items from Snowdonia Cheese Company: the show-stopping Rock Star Cave Aged Vintage Cheddar and bright, delicious Rhubarb & Gin Chutney. Belton Farm’s new Smoked Red Fox will be showcased alongside its classic, crowd-pleasing Red Fox and White Fox, and Beemster Cheese will have several of its new varieties on display, including Truffle, Mustard Seed, Leyden, and Hatch Pepper.”

Also to be discussed at the Conference, Atalanta’s Celebrity brand is rolling out a new goat cheese spread as well as a line extension into sheep’s milk logs, including the highly anticipated Lavender-Honey flavor, which gained significant attention at the Summer Fancy Food Show and IDDBA 2022. Attendees of this year’s Conference will have a chance to stop by the salon on Thursday for a demo of the cheesemaker’s team grilling Mifroma’s new line of easy-to-use, flavored Raclette slices, now available in a grilling kit.

With this year’s event being the society’s first live show since the pandemic began, Atalanta and many other suppliers are looking forward to reconnecting with the cheese industry in person once again.

“ACS is a much more education-based conference than a food show, which provides an extra level of value to our customers. Attendees include a wide range of employees from our customers and potential customers to cheese buyers, cheese shop employees, and store associates,” Katie notes. “This broader audience allows for authentic connections with the people using our products on a daily basis and the people that directly educate the end consumer about our product.”

As Katie explains, the educational aspect of ACS is a critical element that sets this event apart from other trade shows and industry gatherings.

“In contrast to some of the other shows we participate in, ACS is much more about networking and education than buying and selling,” Katie adds. “Having direct interactions with associates and store-level individuals helps us share the incredible story of our artisanal suppliers firsthand, and it allows for critical feedback on new products that are essential to the eventual success of any launch.”
