Two new awards are being added to Beehive Cheese’s glittering trophy case, as the fine artisan cheesemaker took home two Bronze medals at the 2022 World Cheese Awards.
“For a small creamery like ours to win on the world stage means everything,” Katie Schall, Beehive Cheese’s Marketing Director, elaborates on the cheesemaker’s latest wins. “[We are so] grateful for our hardworking and dedicated employees. They are the reason we are here!”
For over 30 years, the World Cheese Awards has attracted thousands from the worldwide cheese community. The World Cheese Awards brings together some of the best cheeses from over 40 countries before an expert panel of judges, noted the release. This year’s event—which took place in Newport, Wales—saw a record-breaking 4,434 entries.
Beehive Cheese won Bronze for its Promontory and Apple Walnut Smoked offerings. The Promontory is the base cheese for all of Beehive’s reputable rubbed-rind Utah cheddars. Simple and elegant, this Cheddar is creamy, buttery, and brothy.
Apple Walnut Smoked, on the other hand, is sweet and creamy. This cheese has the perfect amount of smoke, artfully balancing both the depth of cheese flavor and smoky character. This Cheddar is cold-smoked with walnut wood and apple wedges.
The World Cheese Awards is one of the world’s largest cheese-only competitions. Cheeses are scored on appearance, aroma, and texture, with most points awarded for both flavor and mouthfeel. In 2021, Beehive Cheese earned seven awards at the World Cheese Awards, including top honors, such as a Super Gold for its Queen Bee Porcini cheddar.
Congratulations on these amazing achievements!
