While Belle Chevre may have a dedicated fan following in the retail space for its excellent quality and inventive flavors, the cheesemaker is taking steps to round out its foodservice portfolio as well. The company has recently added new 1.5-ounce single-serve packages to its roster of foodservice chevre cream cheese products. Two of the brand’s favorite flavors, Original and Fig, will be available in the new smaller format and began shipping on October 15.

Tasia Malakasis, CEO and Chief Cheese, Belle Chevre"With the tremendous popularity of cream cheese for bagels and other classic breakfast items, it made sense to offer our ‘better cream cheese’ in a portion size for those vendors seeking a healthier and tastier alternative for their customers," commented Tasia Malakasis, CEO and Chief Cheese, in a press release.

The new portioned cups are intended to maximize convenience and eliminate waste for foodservice providers, such as bakeries that serve cream cheese with bagels. The smaller, individual packaging has numerous applications in the foodservice world—hotels are another that comes to mind, as the 1.5-ounce cups would be a perfect addition to any breakfast bar.

The cheesemaker's chevre cream cheeses provide a flavorful and unique alternative to traditional cream cheese or butter. Both the Original and Fig flavors offer an ultra-creamy texture that feels right at home atop toast, bagels, muffins, or even pancakes. Consumers can also appreciate that the Fig flavor is made with real fig puree—nothing artificial.

The new packaged cups join Belle Chevre’s already robust line of foodservice products, including 4-pound and 8-pound tubs of the Original flavor. All of the cheesemaker’s products are easy to digest and contain less fat and cholesterol, and 2.5 times more protein than regular cheese.
