There is a known magnetism to the Specialty Food Association’s (SFA) sofi™ Awards, standing strong like an Oscar with a chef’s hat as a physical representation of excellence in specialty food. This year, bumble & butter celebrates a Silver Award for its premium line of granolas in the Cereals & Granola Category, winning out among nearly 2,000 product entries.
“We are incredibly honored to win a Silver Award for our Vanilla Bean Granola in the first year of entering our products,” Jamie Kim, Owner of bumble & butter, said. “Since starting the business, I had always dreamed of winning an award that recognizes the quality of our products, so it’s humbling to see this day finally come.”
The company pointed out the magnitude of the honor, which stands as a high point of recognition among the $158 billion specialty food industry.

After working in the fine dining industry, Jamie began making granola from local ingredients in upstate New York, and her classmates started to ask if they could buy jars to take home. Kim founded the company on a college campus in 2017, wanting to share better granolas with everyone, and her granola spread across campus by word-of-mouth, according to a press release.
Today, bumble & butter granola can be found online, on Amazon, and in select stores nationwide, including Whole Foods and Wegmans.
