Conroy Foods' Tom Orlando Discusses IDDBA Showcase and Custom Shipper Program

PITTSBURGH, PA

As Conroy Foods’ National Sales Director Tom Orlando told me, the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) show is the premier gathering of food retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, brokers, distributors, and other industry professionals. The three-day event provides an excellent venue to network, learn, sell, and build relationships.

Tom Orlando, National Sales Director, Conroy Foods“Conroy Foods has been attending IDDBA for over three decades and we have showcased several of our new items and merchandising plans to coordinate with the event,” Tom began telling me. “This year, we will be showcasing our very successful CUSTOM SHIPPERS FOR EVERY SEASON program. We have developed a small footprint shipper and use themed header cards to coincide with seasonal or calendar themed events. If you have the sandwich, we have the sauce…and a shipper for every season!”

Buyers will be able to increase deli sales with a Beano’s custom-made shipper program tailored to their needs. What makes this program so successful is that Conroy customizes the product mix to match the retailers’ preferences or sales history, so the shipper sells out quickly with no markdown or excess inventory.

Tom noted that with the pandemic preventing the show from taking place the past two years, our industry has gained a new appreciation for events like IDDBA.

“I hope everyone that attends takes the time to truly appreciate and acknowledge all of the companies, booths, and folks that are the lifeblood of the business,” he said. “I look forward to seeing our current partners and catching up on both a business and personal level, as well as meeting with new customers, highlighting our products and services, and learning how we can help them grow their sales, increase profits, and play a part in their overall strategy.”

On a final note, Tom divulged what Conroy Foods’ goals are for the show.

“We hope to connect and network with current contacts, meet and establish new contacts, and market the Beano’s brand portfolio,” he concluded. “For as long as I have been attending this show, the most common phrase we hear is ‘I had no idea how extensive and diverse your product line and capabilities are.’ Attendees who stop at our booth enjoy sampling our condiment flavors they are not familiar with and learn more about our merchandising options and foodservice capabilities.”

Be sure to swing by booth #3157 to get a look at this custom shipper program for yourself!
