For the past few months, people everywhere have been spending increasingly more time in their kitchens trying out new recipes, including the makers of De Villiers Chocolate. Aiming to capture specialty sales, the company has announced its creation of plant-based, sugar-free, and dairy-free chocolate treats.
"While there are many no-added-sugar chocolates on the market catering to health-conscious consumers; diabetics; and those following the ketogenic, vegan, and low-carb diets, most of the available options are a cheerless substitute for the real deal—that is, until now," said CEO and Master Chocolate Maker Pieter de Villiers. "We have been trying to perfect a no-added-sugar De Villiers Chocolate option for several years, and we're proud to say that this new range of sugar-free, dairy-free, and vegan chocolate meets the taste, texture, quality, and health benefits that we've been wanting to bring our customers."
The company is among a few handful of premium chocolate producers in Africa, according to a press release, and makes its chocolate with sustainably sourced cocoa beans. Spending the lockdown cooped up in the company's artisan kitchens, the makers of this chocolate created a new recipe that puts a healthier spin on a classic delight. The plant-based delicacy is perfect for consumers with vegan or ketogenic diets, diabetes, or those who are just looking for a healthy option to the sweet, uplifting snack that is the chocolate bar.
The new products are available in multiple flavors including, dark chocolate with almond, cashew, and hazelnut butter, and are available on the company’s website.
Every shopper needs a little comfort these days, and chocolate never fails to provide that. Without the limits of dietary and nutritional restrictions, consumers will be more than eager to take this tasty treat home with them.
