Out with the old and in with the new didn’t account for the winning strategy of pairing age-old tradition with innovative practices. But that’s precisely what Castello Cheese has done with its Havarti—and the brand has the milestones to back it up.

I spoke with Kevin Rider, Brand Manager of Castello Cheese at Arla Foods, to learn more.

A great alternative to Cheddar cheese, Castello Creamy Havarti’s approachable, mild, buttery flavor and creamy texture can elevate an everyday grilled cheese and our one-of-a-kind Aged Havarti is as versatile as Parmesan. It’s buttery notes and rich, caramel flavor paired with the well-aged texture that you’d expect from a cheese that’s aged for up to 12 months.”

Havarti has seen tremendous growth in the United States, Kevin explained, with Havarti earning its place as a mainstay cheese type in the top 15 of all specialty cheeses for quite a few years now.

Castello Cheese’s Havarti offerings have seen impressive success in the U.S.

Supporting this growth, Castello Cheese has experienced +40 percent household penetration growth by means of exciting consumers about the endless possibilities Havarti has to offer.

“We’ve captured the attention of millions through ASMR style digital advertising which highlights all year usage of Havarti in delicious recipes like spring quiche, elevated cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, mac & cheese, and so much more,” Kevin added.

As the brand continues its journey of innovation, it adds two varieties to its lineup, including Caramelized Onion and Chilies & Peppers to its Tickler English Cheddar assortment.

The brand is also capturing consumers’ attention with its new imported Whipped Dips

“We’re also thrilled about the ongoing national launch of our new imported Whipped Dips, delightfully fluffy dips made from imported cheese and carefully selected herbs and spices,” Kevin noted. “Unlike many leading cheese dips and spreads on the market, these products contain simple ingredients and no added preservatives, artificial flavors, or gums.
