Kravitz Deli Revamps The BIG Reuben Challenge for National Sandwich Day; Matt Rydarowicz Comments

The Kravitz Deli BIG Reuben Challenge is back and modified for its 2024 run. The beloved delicatessen is celebrating National Sandwich Day early on Friday, November 1. The company will offer a special promotion to consumers: enjoy a 6 oz "piled high" sandwich for $12.99, priced as a 4 oz lunch-size sandwich ($11.99).

“We had some great attempts last year, but no one came close to completing the challenge,” says Matt Rydarowicz, Owner of Kravitz Deli. “So this year, we’ve made it a bit more achievable—though it’s still no easy feat!”

For this year’s The BIG Reuben Challenge, Kravitz Deli has made some adjustments to ensure it's more achievable while still being a serious appetite test, a press release stated.

Participants will have 60 minutes to devour a hefty sandwich featuring:

• 1 lb of old-fashioned deli rye bread
• 1 lb of corned beef
• ¼ lb of Swiss cheese
• ½ lb of sauerkraut or coleslaw
• ½ cup of Thousand Island dressing
• 1 lb of house-cut fries
• 16 oz draft beer or fountain soda

That’s nearly three pounds of delicious food to finish in one hour—could you do it?

Prizes for the Winners Contestants who conquer the challenge within 60 minutes will earn:
