With a progressive vision and a firm belief in changing the direction of tomorrow, more companies are pivoting their business strategies, and starting at the top. McCormick & Co. is one of these industry leaders addressing the needs of today and the future by naming Nneka Rimmer President of Global Flavors and Extracts. She is the first Black President at McCormick and has plans to impact change locally and globally.
“Now that I’ve reached the C-suite, I take the responsibility of being a Black leader—at McCormick, and more broadly—very seriously,” Rimmer shared, according to an article in bizwomen. Rimmer took to the helm on August 1 of this year, leading the Baltimore-area company’s Global Flavors and Extracts business.
The industry visionary joins the Global Flavor Solutions Council and in her new role, she will oversee and manage part of the portfolio of products, which include flavorings, fragrances, and extracts such as vanilla that McCormick sells to other operations, according to the feature.
With change in mind, Rimmer wants to seek diverse candidate pools when hiring and will mentor Black leaders in and outside of the company
Rimmer’s journey began in 2015 as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development at McCormick. She is also a member of McCormick’s Management Committee. In addition, she is an executive sponsor of the Black employee advisory group at McCormick, which was founded in July to discover how McCormick can support Black employees.
Before joining the McCormick team, Rimmer was Partner and Managing Director with Boston Consulting Group.
We would like to extend our congratulations and excitement to Nneka Rimmer on her new role as President! We look forward to the change you seek to impact!
