The fresh squeak of shopping carts over new floors is all shoppers will look forward to, because Meijer recently announced the opening of two new facilities. April 28 is a grand day for the opening of two new supercenters as the retailer expands its reach in Northeast Ohio.
“It’s extremely exciting to continue expanding our presence in Northeast Ohio,” said Tom Wilson, Regional Vice President. “Over the last two years, our store teams have helped families meet unprecedented challenges by providing fresh grocery options and supporting their pharmacy needs. Now, we’re gearing up to bring our one-stop shopping experience to new communities in Brunswick and Canton.”
These new supercenters will feature special promotions and events following opening day. A bakery, meat, deli, and several other departments will be expected at the new stores along with Meijer Express gas stations, which will open on March 31. More details regarding the new supercenters will reportedly be confirmed prior to opening day.
Most recently, Meijer built a total of seven supercenters in the Greater Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown, OH, areas. The new Fairfax Market mixed-use project also broke ground in December 2021. Additionally, the retailer maintains a distribution center in Tipp City, employing more than 12,000 team members statewide.
