Award-winning cottage cheese brand Muuna welcomes the plant-forward dairy trend by introducing its newest flavor, Muuna Cannabis Cottage Cheese. Starting April 1st, this new limited-edition variety is available in Muuna’s distinct snack-sized, single-serve cup using milk from grass-fed cows.
Muuna Cannabis Cottage Cheese launches in select retailers across the country (legal in certain states and only for adults aged 21 and over)—or does it? April Fools! The company’s tongue-in-cheek splash page launched on the 1st, with a faux press release intended to drum up attention!
“At Muuna, we are embracing the trend in functional foods and we believe one such function is to promote a feeling of zen among our customers, after eating our product,” said the company's CEO Gerard Meyer, in its mock press release. “Euphoric vibes are just one delicious spoonful away with this creamy, dreamy snack, coming straight from grass-fed cows.”
According to the company’s press release, Muuna is known for bold flavors including its introduction last fall of a limited-edition, seasonal Pumpkin & Spice Cottage Cheese. With that being said, the brand ostensibly expanded its offerings to feature the very first Cannabis Cottage Cheese.
The company’s would-be limited edition Cannabis variety features its uniquely creamy, lowfat plain cottage cheese as a base with a sprinkle of food-grade cannabis on the bottom, delivering an earthy taste as stated in the press release. Muuna’s latest contribution will let customers unwind while keeping the munchies to a minimum with 20 grams of protein and only 4 grams of carbohydrates.
With the brand’s original line of Classic and Lowfat Plain cottage cheese, Muuna’s Cannabis “joins” a wide variety of single-serve flavors such as Black Cherry, Raspberry, Pineapple, Peach, Blueberry, Strawberry, and Mango, each of which contains 17g of protein and only 8g of sugar, as well as calcium, potassium, and probiotics. Muuna’s full line of flavors are available in 10,000 grocery stores nationwide.
