Olli Salumeria Debuts New Products

While the lead-up to the Winter Fancy Food Show is one busy with new product debuts, the weeks after the show are just as chock-full. Olli Salumeria has only added to this product launch frenzy, after keeping the innovation wheel churning with new products under both its Olli and Le Stelle brands. This includes the likes of Hard Salami, Hot Sopressata, and Italian Dry Salami for the Olli brand, and Mozzarella Sticks with Prosciutto, Hard Salami, and Pepperoni under the Le Stelle brand.

I sat down to chat with Gil Perales, Marketing Director for Olli Salumeria, to find out more about the company’s latest launches that are already ramping up the meat category as a whole.

Gil Perales, Marketing Director, Olli Salumeria Americana“Our new flavors are expanding our company’s options for consumers,” Gil shared with me. “Each new item builds on the unique elements of our line—elements that are derived from our process and quality and translates to an elevated tasting experience. We want to believe we are creating experiences more than creating a product. It's like putting consumers in Italy with a good glass of wine, some cheese, and friends. This is what we do and who we are."

In addition to complementing the quality of Olli Salumeria’s existing products, the new items under the Le Stelle brand are the company’s way of pushing into convenience and growing its grab-and-go options.

When we talk about new products, we can’t forget to mention the packaging—a labor of love for many in the industry, and Olli Salumeria is no exception.

“There’s a saying in Italian, ‘L’occhio vuole la sue parte,’ meaning ‘the eye wants its share, too.’ The purpose of our product designs is meant to capture the eye of the consumer,” Gil explained. “Our modified atmosphere packaging lowers the oxygen levels to allow a prolonged life of freshness. On top of that, each section of our snack items is sealed to avoid flavor migration.”

When I asked Gil if he had any merchandising tips for the new items, he pointed to Olli Salumeria’s various in-store options.

“We have Olli-branded crates to hold our 6 oz chubs on a shelf or display unit. Our snacks and pre-sliced meats have hanging peg abilities to fit inside refrigerated spaces or on a corner display. We also have display boxes that are available when requested,” Gil concluded.
