I am a certified cream cheese lover, which is why I was delighted to find out that Philadelphia® is bringing increased cream cheese offerings to the plant-based consumer. The highly popular brand has announced the nationwide rollout of its first-ever plant-based spread.
“To be the first mainstream cream cheese brand launching a plant-based spread option with widespread accessibility across the United States is an important milestone for Philadelphia and our fans,” said Keenan White, Senior Brand Manager, Philadelphia at the Kraft Heinz Company. “Whether on their morning bagel, a veggie pairing for lunch, or a delicious dip creation for snack time, we are proud to provide consumers with a delicious product that fits their lifestyle.”
After seeing impressive success in its regional test market—including the doubling of repeat purchases–the brand has extended its plant-based portfolio with two new best-selling flavors as part of the nationwide launch: Strawberry and Chive and Onion.
According to a press release, the nationwide launch comes on the heels of a successful regional test market in the Southeast United States last year, with 70 percent of purchasers saying the product exceeded their expectations. A Plant-Based Regional Launch PFU Study shows that the newly launched product ranks among the top-performing plant-based cream cheeses in the Southeast and sixth in the nation despite only being available in one region.
Shoppers can find Philadelphia Plant-Based spread at grocery retailers nationwide starting this month. For more info on this launch, click here.
