Wholesome, natural foods. This is what consumers are increasingly seeking out in the grocery store, and Sach Foods is here to meet their needs. The paneer maker is expanding both its portfolio of retail partners as well as its line of delicious, nutrition-rich, Indian-inspired offerings including its newly launched sauces and meal kits.
Sach Foods’ founding husband and wife duo was raised vegetarian, and their entrepreneurial journey was driven by the need to make nutrition-rich vegetarian foods more accessible.
“We started making our paneer in our kitchen in San Francisco, California, as a way to end the struggle of finding a versatile, natural, meatless source of protein. We felt the existing options in the market were commoditized and lacked authenticity and creativity,” said Co-Founder Jasleen Kaur.
Although Sach Foods is known for its line of organic, artisanal flavored paneers, the Founders share a bold vision of offering a range of beautifully crafted products that span multiple categories. Launched in 2019, the brand name itself means ‘honest’ in Hindi—and that’s exactly the ethos the brand’s line of non-GMO, small-batch products embody. Its mission can be seen in everything from its focus on high-quality ingredients, to its dedication to only sourcing ethical and sustainable products, to the way it’s reconceptualizing the idea of healthy, convenient food.
Sach Foods’ innovative take on an existing category and broadly on Indian cuisine has found its way into American kitchens. Since then, its initial launch, the company has added new product lines that include oil-free sauces and healthy meal kits, which both make it even easier for consumers to simultaneously enjoy the often-at-odds worlds of convenience, taste, and nutrition.
Paneer Meal kits, available in Tandoori Paneer and Smokey BBQ Paneer, serve two and can be prepared in less than ten minutes in the pan, grill, oven, or skillet. Consumers can add veggies of their choice and pair them with rice, bread, or naan to make a full meal. Sach Foods’ sauces are shelf-stable, sold in individual single-serve packages for convenience, and feature a plethora of aromatic herbs, spices, and ingredients. The product makes portioning easier, and is designed to reduce food waste by preventing the otherwise common occurrence of a partially used jar being thrown away. Both the meal kits and sauces are made in small batches and are gluten-free. They are launching in retail in the coming weeks.
“We are excited about what the future holds, and we’re eager to continue innovating and bringing new products to consumers nationwide by partnering with like-minded, purpose-driven retailers,” said Co-Founder Tarush Agarwal.
High-quality ingredients, aesthetically pleasing packaging, and a willingness to stay on the cutting-edge of innovation have helped the brand go from a small operation to a national contender in the natural food world. Sach Foods boasts of a national presence in Whole Foods, and progressive, regional, community-focused partnerships with H-E-B, Fresh Direct, Good Eggs, and MOM’s Organic Markets, bringing the brand to almost 3,000 retail locations around the country.
