Tyson Foods is expanding its reach and network as it has broken ground on a new facility. The sprawling 400,000-square-foot facility will be located in Bowling Green’s Kentucky Transpark.
“We can’t wait for this groundbreaking and to build a world-class facility here in this community,” commented Noelle O’Mara, the Group President of Prepared Foods for Tyson Foods, to WBKO. “We knew that coming to Bowling Green would be an opportunity for us to continue with the economic development here and be able to provide, you know, more than 450 jobs for people in this growing, growing community.”
As noted by the new source, the $355 million facility will bring 451 jobs to the Bowling Green community. Governor Andy Beshear, who was in attendance at the groundbreaking, commented it is the “single largest new investment in Bowling Green and Warren County.”
Tyson has noted it will use the Kentucky Transpark location to produce Jimmie Dean products and Wright Brand Bacon. Production is expected to begin in late 2023.
“We look forward to being part of this great community. We look forward to partnering and bringing jobs and growth in being community members for a long time,” explained O’Mara.
