I recently had the opportunity to speak to Uncle Dougie’s CEO Rob Johnson about a new product line, packaging, and five flavors designed to pique consumers’ interest and differentiate in the crowded barbecue sauce category. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, the line boasts a certification to which consumers are increasingly gravitating; Uncle Dougie’s latest like of clean label products—Uncle Dougie's (Way More Than) Barbecue Sauce, boasting Founder Doug Tomek’s “no crap” motto—is USDA Certified Organic.
Uncle Dougie’s new line includes five flavors developed to tantalize consumers tastebuds—without frightening off traditionalist sauce-heads. Flavors include:
The product of an exhaustive consumer research process, Uncle Dougie’s latest line preserves all those characteristics that consumers loved about Uncle Dougie’s products—small batch, gluten-free, preservative free, etc.—but under a single certification that consumers understand and gravitate toward.
Additionally, Uncle Dougie’s latest line comes in an innovative new packaging that’s unlike anything ever to hit the U.S. sauce market. With its lightweight design and flexible material, the new packaging is projected to significantly reduce shipping-associated carbon emissions. And each sauce has a custom-designed spigot to ensure that last bit of sauce can be slathered onto a steak.
Each 13.5 oz package of Uncle Dougie’s (Way More Than) Barbecue Sauce has an SRP of $6.49.
