In the holiday spirit of giving and sharing, US Foods Holding has revealed it will donate $30,000, equal to almost 300,000 meals, to Feeding America to help those in need.
The donation comes as part of the distributor’s Giving Gratitude campaign, a month-long effort focused on supporting communities facing food insecurity. With this gift, US Foods brings its total donations for 2021 to over $20 million in product to food banks, equivalent to upward of 12 million pounds of food and supplies.
“As part of our commitment to fighting hunger across the country, we have been privileged to use the power of gratitude and the generosity of our associates to give back to our communities this holiday season,” said David Works, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “This donation, in addition to the product donations we made to food banks throughout the year, makes a true difference in the communities we serve. We look forward to continuing our hunger relief efforts in the year ahead.”
US Foods’ Giving Gratitude holiday campaign supports the distributor’s commitment to fighting hunger through product donations, monetary contributions, and volunteer activities, the company explained in a release.
As part of the campaign, US Foods associates across the country are encouraged to share a photo or video expressing that they are grateful for using the hashtag #GivingGratitude. They are also invited to make personal contributions to Feeding America through the company’s Team Feed donation website. For every gratitude post and donation made through the site, the distributor has donated an additional $1 to the organization, up to $20,000.
Cheers to US Foods and other companies across the industry committed to making a difference in the communities they serve!
