After the challenges of the past year and a half, our industry has learned how to adjust to the changing tides and turn change into a conduit for growth, which is exactly what Utz Brands is doing as it announces changes to its Executive Leadership Team (ELT). The snacking maven recently revealed that Shane Chambers will step in as Utz’s Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer for Utz Brands, Inc., while Mark Schreiber will become Executive Vice President of Sales and Chief Customer Officer, both helping the company to drive forward future growth.
Currently serving as currently Chief Executive Officer of Utz’s Truco / ON THE BORDER® Division, Chambers will continue reporting to Dylan Lissette, Chief Executive Officer, as he takes over as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s marketing and branding teams, strategic growth initiatives, consumer facing innovation, and helping to source and execute on the company’s M&A strategy, according to a press release. Additionally, Chamber will continue to oversee and manage the successful integration of Truco into Utz while maintaining the positive momentum of the ON THE BORDER chips and dips brand.
Chambers brings will him a strong background in general management, brand strategy, and innovation, and has a track record of growing and expanding businesses. Along with reporting to Lissette, he will also work closely with Bill Blubaugh, SVP of Marketing and Communications; Shannan Redcay, SVP of Innovation and Value Creation; and Cary Devore, Executive Vice President and CFO.
Joining Chambers in assuming a new position is Mark Schreiber, current Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer, Sales and Marketing. In his new role as Executive Vice President of Sales and Chief Customer Officer, he will oversee all aspects of Sales as it relates to both distribution and customers, including responsibility for the $300M in retail sales that are driven through Utz’s Truco / ON THE BORDER Division. He will also be managing Trade Marketing/Revenue Management and Category/Shopper Insights.
Schreiber joined Utz in the spring of 2017 as EVP and Chief Customer Officer and has led the team to creating more strategic connections with the company’s retail partners at all levels. He has also elevated Utz Brands to win more consumers across more geographies and channels. In his role, he will report directly to Lissette as well.
“As we continue to grow as a public company, we believe that these changes to the team will continue to accelerate Utz’s ability to grow and evolve into a stronger company. We continue to see strong sales momentum as we unlock new ways to grow our Power Brands across the U.S., and we look forward to the positive contributions these changes will bring to the business,” Lissette commented on the transition of the two leaders to new roles.
Congratulations to both Shane Chambers and Mark Schreiber as they take on their new positions!
