One retailer’s footprint is continuously swelling across the United States as Wegmans has announced an upcoming expansion. The Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Norwalk, Connecticut, recently announced its approval of the retailer’s application to expand in the city, and shoppers are eager to welcome the new store.
“What we see is that when Wegmans comes into the market, it’s a win-win for everybody,” Steve Leaty, the Project Manager for Wegmans, said during a July meeting. “Anybody that exists there today has to up their game, their experience needs to be better than Wegmans in order to compete.”
The location will stand at 91,000 square feet in addition to a two-story parking garage. Leaty also stated that the store would have a positive effect on the area even with an already high concentration of grocery stores, according to Westchester & Fairfield County Business Journals.
More details surrounding the store have yet to be released.
Deli Market News will keep a close eye on the retailer’s footprint to see how it expands even further. Stay tuned for more updates!
