Weis Markets is beginning a new chapter as it kicks off its first new construction project since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The retailer recently broke ground on a new store in Lake Linganore, Maryland.
“We are grateful to Lake Linganore for welcoming us to the community and showing enthusiastic support for our first new construction store in more than four years,” said Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President Jonathan Weis. “We are committed to providing our Lake Linganore customers with an enjoyable and convenient shopping experience for many years to come.”
This will be the company’s 50th location in Maryland and seventh location in Frederick County, featuring the latest in innovative store design, a press release stated. Store features will include expansive fresh departments, a grocery department with excellent variety, and much more.
The store is expected to be completed in early 2025 and will bring approximately 150 new jobs to the area.
