As a kid—and if I’m being honest, as an adult—I’ve gotten in trouble for nibbling on cookie dough before it goes into the oven, and I’m sure other consumers can relate. Luckily, Whoa Dough is on the scene, bringing snack happiness to the grocery aisles with its cookie dough bars that are gluten-, dairy-, soy-, and egg-free.
“Shoppers want quality,” says Todd Goldstein, Founder. “They also want everyday options they can enjoy without worry. There are so few snacks that effectively combine sweet-treat flavor AND feel-good nutrition, and Whoa Dough is one of them. Each small but mighty Whoa Dough bar is the best of both worlds—without junk, artificial ingredients, or compromise.”
Whoa Dough was launched to market in 2020 by Todd after he and his sons were diagnosed with gluten intolerance, quickly turning a bummer into a big idea. After recognizing the growth in the cookie dough market and the lack of options for those with allergies, Whoa Dough was born.
Since that fateful debut, the cookie dough snack bar company has continued to ride the wave of growth and development, leading to distribution partnerships across the United States. The brand has also rolled out its variety packs and 4-packs on its website and on Amazon.
“With our first year in the market being 2021, our business will see over 400 percent growth,” Todd explains. “We have expanded into over 2,000 retailers nationwide, including World Market, Heinen’s, Festival, Snack Magic, Tops, Giant Eagle, GoPuff, and Gettir! We are also now available in Central Market and will launch in six Kroger divisions in Q1 of 2023.”
The reasons behind this growth? Whoa Dough’s short, simple, and sustainable list of ingredients; its accessibility for all types of snackers; and eye-catching packaging. Not to mention, each of its six SKUs contains 4–5 g of protein, less than 10 g of sugar, is 100 percent plant-based, and certified gluten-free and vegan with four of its SKUs being top-eight allergen-free. I’m starting to understand why they named themselves Whoa Dough!
Unlike other cookie dough products, Whoa Dough does not need to be refrigerated or baked, creating extra convenience for shoppers looking for on-the-go products to enjoy throughout the day or to add to their children’s lunchboxes. They are shelf-stable for up to 12 months and can last even longer if frozen or refrigerated.
With these innovative products headlining Whoa Dough’s lineup, the company’s next move will be to keep expanding its unique portfolio, giving consumers and retailers more to enjoy.
“There is a lot to come! We are always working on innovative ways to eat cookie dough,” Todd adds. “In addition, we are looking to keep expanding and start selling our products internationally as well as in more stores nationwide. We like to say that anything is possible here, and we are open to exploring a vast range of new ideas.”
That said, give your shoppers something to say “whoa!” about with Whoa Dough’s yummy range of cookie dough bars!
