Califia Farms’ CEO Greg Steltenpohl received the Specialty Foods’ 2016 Business Leadership Award during the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco.
Recognized for having gone “above and beyond” in advancing food standards in society – and society itself – by creating social, economic, and environmental impact through innovation and vision, Steltenpohl has overseen the company’s overwhelming growth in the plant-based beverages and cold brew coffee industry over the past year.
According to a press release, Califia launched over 25 plant-based beverages and cold brew coffee-based drinks in 2015, doubled revenues, and increased distribution to 18,000 storefronts across both natural and conventional channels.
“2015 was a milestone year, not only for us, but for plant-based food and beverages in general,” Steltenpohl said in a statement. “At Califia Farms, we are relentlessly focused on quality and innovation to deliver game changing plant-based beverages that taste delicious while being better for you and the planet.”
This week, Califia launched its new Better Half Creamer, a nut-based variety of the traditional Half & Half. This new addition comes in Original and Unsweetened flavors and offers a low-calorie non-dairy alternative.
“Our mission is to continue to innovate healthy and great-tasting beverages that make it easy for consumers to go ‘plant-powered’ and dairy-free,” Steltenpohl continued. “Ultimately, our goal is to create beverages that both retailers and consumers are proud to have on their shelves.”
