Blount Fine Foods is introducing a new line of broth bowls for foodservice, looking to capitalize on current industry trends.
The new broth bowls, Thai-style Coconut Broth and Vegetable Broth, are now available for immediate order. These items were developed to complement soups and entrees. They can also be used on the hot bar accompanied by vegetables, noodles, and proteins diners can add themselves, according to a press release.
Thai-style Coconut Broth combines coconut milk, onions, tomatoes, red bell peppers, brown sugar, garlic, and chili peppers for a diverse, yet savory flavor profile. The more traditional Vegetable Broth, on the other hand, brings a flavorful vegetable stock with a hint of soy, miso, and ginger.
“Be it food, clothing, or technology, consumers continue to seek control and the ability to tailor and customize the goods and services they purchase. In this trend, our product development team saw an opportunity to provide that flexibility and control with a line of broths designed to be paired up with fresh-cut vegetables, pastas, and proteins,” Bob Sewall, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, tells DeliMarket News. “We expect to see a strong response in those deli hot bars that make it easy for their customers to enjoy their soup, their way.”
Both broth bowls are shipped frozen in four, 4-pound ready-to-heat bags.
Blount also provides more than 700 premium products for restaurants, institutions, retailers, and club stores nationwide. The company manufactures 500 proprietary soup recipes, including 75 varieties of clam chowder alone.
