Boston Coffee Cake is celebrating 25 years of sweet success this year. From its humble beginnings in 1992, baking some 50 cakes each day out of a 1,600-square-foot bakery in Woburn, Massachusetts, the company has worked incessantly toward a simple goal: baking the best coffee cake possible.
“It has been an honor to serve our customers delicious Boston Coffee Cakes for 25 remarkable years,” said Mark Forman, Founder and Director of Business Development for Boston Coffee Cake’s parent company Bake’n Joy Foods, Inc. “As we look ahead to future growth, we promise to stay grounded in our heritage. Here’s to the next 25 years!”
Armed with a recipe from Nana Esther, passed down for generations, Forman would deliver cakes by car in the company’s early years, the company noted in a statement. By 1996, the company had expanded to a 6,000-square-foot facility, producing more and more cakes as its reputation rapidly grew.
In 2010, the company partnered with Bake’n Joy Foods, another family-owned New England business guided by likeminded principles–to provide customers with the best tasting baked goods to share with family, friends, and business associates.
Today, Boston Coffee Cake operates out of a new, state-of-the-art 11,300-square-foot bakery, baking up to 12,000 coffee cakes and other confections each day. The company has taken home gold as a USA Taste Champion in a competition held by the American Masters of Taste. Boston Coffee Cake products are available to retailers and foodservice operators throughout New England and are available via mail order online at www.bostoncoffeecake.com.
