Bimbo Bakeries USA will be shuttering its Hastings-based bakery operations, shifting and dispersing to several other bakeries upon the close, set for early September.

Production from the facility will be shifted to:
The company added that it plans to have human resources meet with affected associates and union representatives. “We truly value and respect our dedicated associates at the Hastings bakery and will assist them throughout the transition,” Jaramillo stated.
Bimbo Bakeries acquired the facility from Sara Lee back in 2011, and stated that there are not immediate plans to close more bakeries at this time.
