For the this year's summer snacking season, Canadian bread company Boulart has announced the latest addition to its bread offerings, an olive oil and herb focaccia flatbread.
The delicious-looking loaf comes fully baked and blast-frozen. Boulart recommends baking the bread at 375°F for 5-8 minutes. As an option, the company also suggests lightly brushing the crust with olive oil and to top with your favorite topping and pair with oil and vinegar or favorite dip.
This new product comes in units of 18 per case, and has a frozen shelf life of 270 days. Each bread unit is 9.8 x 6.7 x 1.2 inches in diameter, weighs 17.6oz, and has 120 calories per 50 gram serving.
The new Focaccia bread "brings the ultimate mix of soft crumb and crisp crust," and is "made with unbleached, untreated, enriched wheat flour, water, olive oil, sea salt, yeast, malted barley and herbs," stated the company. The product, like all Boulart products, contain no additional sugar, preservatives, is Non-GMO Project Verified and Vegan. This particular bread is also free from trans-fats.
Fresh-baked Focaccia is always a treat, and this news is promising for retailers who might want to add the premium convenience bread product to its deli offerings, next to the mozzarella and pizza toppings.
