I Bake Um’s Chef Petros Shares What’s Special About His Family’s Lahvash Recipe

Tuesday, March 29th, 2016

I Bake Um’s Chef Petros joined DeliMarket News to give us the sneak peek behind the company’s unique lahvash recipe.

Check out our brief three-minute video at the top of the page, or keep reading to see some of the highlights from our interview with Chef Petros!

Made with only seven natural, non-GMO ingredients – wheat flour, stone ground whole wheat, oat flour, yeast, sea salt, pure cane sugar, and filtered water – I Bake Um’s lahvash flatbread is carefully crafted in the company’s custom-made brick oven, which is capable of reaching temperatures of 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit.

“These unique bricks produce the best flame-broiled flavor – the radiant heat to fully cook the core of this unique lahvash bread,” Chef Petros tells us.

As for the nutritional benefits, I Bake Um’s lahvash is:

  • High in protein and fiber
  • Low in salt
  • No oil
  • Easy to digest
  • Fully baked
  • No chemicals, preservatives, or conditioners

I Bake Um offers several different sizes for its lahvash breads: 12 x 14 for platter trays and 6-inch wraps, 10 x 10 for individual wrapped sandwiches, and 7 x 10.

“Notice all our breads are either square or rectangle to ensure a perfectly balanced wrap every time,” Chef Petros continued.
