Ms. Michelle's Gluten Free (MMGF) has officially joined the Walmart family, rolling out its signature specialty cookies throughout the retailer's New York tri-state region locations. MMGF had previously been operating as a local "mom & pop" bakery, but after four years of success in operating a gluten-free and dairy-free bakery in Bayport, Long Island, the company made the decision to go big or go home.
“It seemed that no matter how much baking time we devoted to cookie manufacturing it was a challenge to make enough to satisfy the constantly growing demand,” explained Christopher Kelly, the company’s Vice-President and Chief Marketing Strategist, in a statement. “We had no choice but to make it a mission to manufacture cookies well beyond what our bakery could produce... without sacrificing what keeps our customers coming back time and time again—freshness, flavor, quality and taste!”
MMGF offers the following four flavors, in gluten-free, dairy-free, and preservative-free:
The cookies are wrapped in the company's innovative and attractive packaging, featuring Founder and CEO, Ms. Michelle Gillette-Kelly herself, in the logo.
“When we first met the [Walmart] buyers in Bentonville, Arkansas, of course we could only hope they would accept us as they did,” Michelle shared. “But I kept looking at the words and image of Sam Walton on the wall while we waited to go in, ‘You can't just keep doing what works one time, everything around you is changing. To succeed, stay out in front of change.’”
