This strategic expansion not only marks a significant increase in the brand’s retail presence but also sets the stage for future growth on the East Coast later this fall.
Gelson’s Markets, established in 1951, operates a network of 27 premium specialty grocery stores throughout Southern California, from Santa Barbara to Pacific Beach. Known for its exceptional service and high standards for quality and freshness, Gelson’s offers a unique shopping experience by combining traditional grocery convenience with a neighborhood market charm.
While it was only introduced to the U.S. market in Chicago, in February 2024, the Better Dog has a track record of having quickly succeeded since its debut in Spain in 2022. According to a press release, Better Dog has garnered multiple accolades from both consumers and industry experts for its superior taste, texture, and overall quality.
In celebration of this launch, Better Balance will embark on a food truck tour starting in late August 2024. The tour will feature stops at select Los Angeles-area universities and festivals and various Gelson’s locations, offering coupons, complimentary Better Dog samples, and branded giveaways.
