Who doesn’t love mochi? I mean, what’s not to love? Tiny bites of ice cream wrapped in delicious dough—you can’t go wrong stocking this consumer favorite treat on your shelves. And, Bubbies Ice Cream is of the same mindset, as the company famous for its mochi has announced it is expanding its distribution through partnerships with major retailers across the nation.
“We are very excited to join forces with new and existing retail partners to make Bubbies more accessible across the country, especially for our newer customers and even loyal brand fans,” said Vice President of Marketing, Katie Cline. “Now more than ever, people are turning to ice cream for comfort and are looking for new ways to indulge, which opens up opportunities for us to provide value to consumers. Our products offer an exciting experience beyond a traditional pint through texture and a robust portfolio of flavors, so we can’t wait to bring Bubbies to people looking for something more than just your typical sweet snack.”
Through its new distribution expansion efforts, Bubbies’ Mochi Ice Cream and Cookie Dough Bites will now be available in big-name retailers across the U.S., according to a press release. This includes Sprouts Farmers Market, Whole Foods Market, Safeway, Albertsons, Shaw’s, Acme, and Big Y—to name a few.
Bubbies’ expanded shelf placement and retail partnerships comes as a significant milestone for the brand following double-digit growth over the past year. Data from SPINS shows that the mochi maven’s Passionfruit Mochi is one of the number one fastest growing items in the category segment in the natural channel. Through its growth, the company has also developed a strong base of loyal, repeat customers.
Additionally, Bubbies recently celebrated the reopening of its in-store Self-Serve Mochi Bars at Whole Foods, offering a variety of individually wrapped flavors including Mango, Green Tea, Passion Fruits, Vegan Strawberry, and Vegan Chocolate. All of these flavors are wrapped in packaging that is sustainable, using 75 percent less plastic than traditional packaging and providing a safe, on-the-go way to enjoy the sweet treat.
