Drumroll, please! The Winter Fancy Food Show is upon us and Califia Farms is bringing its A-game this January with fresh new products and insights. Peter Pappas, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer at Califia Farms, took a beat to share the deets on the program and what we can expect from the innovative operation at this coveted event.
“We’re excited to highlight new offerings at the show: Oatmilk Creamers—a reformulated Black & White Cold Brew Coffee with an oat milk base, and a new shelf-stable Almondmilk flavor—Unsweetened Vanilla Almondmilk,” Peter shares. “We’ll also be featuring our Oat Barista Blend and our Nitro Latte with Oatmilk cans as we continue to focus and expand on our oat platform.”
As Peter notes, overall, the alternative milk category is showing consistent growth and now makes up 13 percent of the entire milk category. This stat is up 6 percent over the past year, according to the Plant Based Food Association.
“Within the alternative milk category, the oat milk category is growing at an even faster pace with oat milk sales skyrocketing 636 percent, according to Nielsen,” Peter expresses. “We developed our Oatmilk Creamers, Black & White Cold Brew Coffee with Oatmilk, and our Unsweetened Vanilla Shelf-Stable Almondmilk to meet retailer and consumer demand for innovation within the alternative milk category.”
Califia’s Oatmilk platform continues to grow with its new Oatmilk Creamers made from North American-grown oats. Addressing the diet needs and demands of many of today’s consumers, they have less sugar than other oat milk creamers and contain no artificial flavors or sweeteners.
“It’s an allergen-friendly, plant-based creamer that provides the same crave-worthy creaminess found in traditional dairy options. The creamers are available in three classic flavors: Hazelnut, Unsweetened, and Vanilla,” Peter adds. “Coffee with oat milk continues to be a preferred flavor and taste combination, so we reformulated our Black & White Cold Brew Coffee to include our smooth, naturally creamy Oatmilk. The new Unsweetened Vanilla Shelf Stable Almondmilk is the same Almondmilk that our consumers know and love, but in a new flavor that does not need to be refrigerated until opening.”
In addition, Califia’s Oat Barista Blend steams beautifully and perfectly pairs with coffee for a great-tasting latte, Peter notes.
“The delicious taste and ability to steam make it a great option for the coffee shop, restaurant or at-home barista,” he reflects, adding that the company’s Nitro Latte with Oatmilk is an exciting single-serve option for that feel-good energy on the go. “Our widget technology delivers a café frothiness and satisfying whoosh that consumers love. It doesn’t need to be refrigerated until opened, so it’s perfect for any time of the day.”
