A new Chief is joining Hy-Vee’s C-suite roster. Bringing invaluable expertise to his role, Casey Decker will be stepping in as the retailer’s new Chief Information Officer.
In his new position, Decker will oversee all of Hy-Vee’s information systems and staff and lead the company’s technology operations. He will also lead all innovations and initiatives for the retailer’s online and digital channels. Decker comes to Hy-Vee after serving as the Chief Information Officer for FBL Financial Group.
According to the release, Decker holds a bachelor’s degree from Drake University as well as a master's degree in Management of Information Systems from DePaul University.
Decker assumes the role from Executive Vice President Matt Ludwig, who has transitioned to oversee Hy-Vee’s supply chain as Chief Supply Chain Officer and Executive Vice President.

In 2019, Decker was recognized as CIO of the Year from the Technology Association of Iowa. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Food Bank of Iowa and Junior Achievement of Central Iowa. He has completed the General Management Program (GMP) from Wharton Business School and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
