C&S Wholesale Grocers has a sustainable take on following the yellow brick road. With The Green Path Forward, a comprehensive strategy for driving operational growth while lessening environmental impact, the retailer has achieved key milestones, as outlined in its 2022 Sustainability Report.
“At C&S, we work as ONE Team in everything we do,” said Bob Palmer, Chief Executive Officer. “It is the foundation of our business success and is the basis for our ability to drive The Green Path Forward. We are immensely proud of our work to improve the environment and of our employees for their unrelenting dedication to achieving these important results. Even during the challenging times that we are all dealing with, we remain dedicated to keeping our planet strong and healthy.”
In 2020, the C&S Sustainability Committee developed a comprehensive strategic action roadmap, The Green Path Forward, as noted in a press release. This dynamic blueprint established best practices and targets for preserving the environment, eliminating waste, and lessening the company’s carbon footprint. In 2021, the retailer continued advancing these goals to further uplift its communities.
In each of these three areas, as explained in the report, C&S has established an overall goal to improve its operational efficiencies, focused on reducing waste and energy consumption by 5 percent on a yearly basis through 2025. These goals are communicated and supported throughout C&S.

As more operational strategies come into play throughout the retail sector, Deli Market News will continue to report on its growth.
