Dollar General Announces Changes to Store Operations Leadership; Todd Vasos Shares

You may have heard word of a strategic executive leadership transition taking place for Dollar General Corporation (DG). It was recently announced that the current Executive Vice President, Store Operations, Steve Sunderland will be departing as of January 19. Following the leader’s departure, Steve Deckard—current Executive Vice President, Growth and Emerging Markets—will transition to an expanded role leading store operations across Dollar General retail locations, Mi Súper Dollar General in Mexico, pOpshelf stores, and the corporate store teams.

Steve Deckard, Executive Vice President of Growth and Emerging Markets, Dollar GeneralAs a recent release highlighted, Deckard began his DG career in 2006 as a Regional Director of stores and has held roles of increasing responsibility in store operations, strategy and financial planning, asset protection, and more. As SVP of Emerging Markets, Deckard led the company’s international expansion into Mexico before being promoted to his current role in June 2023.

In addition to the company’s domestic and international store operations, the experienced leader will continue to oversee real estate, asset protection, and DG’s Wellbeing strategies.
