After breaking into the goat cheese category less than a month ago, Roth® Cheese has seen great success with its fresh Roth Chevré. I spoke with Heather Engwall, Vice President of Marketing, Emmi Roth, to learn more about this unique chevré.
“Convenience is a top priority for consumers and Roth developed its new plain and flavored chevré with that in mind,” she began. “Roth Chevré is available in a variety of retail formats including crumbles, logs, and grab-and-go medallions, making it easy to add this versatile cheese to a quick dinner at home, build a cheeseboard for a party, or enjoy as a snack on the go."
Featuring a lively new design, the packaging is clean and makes the product easy for consumers to spot on a shelf—that goat is certainly bleating my name.
“It’s an extension of the current Roth brand. For consumers, this reinforces this new product has the same quality consumers have come to know and trust from other Roth cheeses,” Heather explained.
As goat cheese sales have climbed over the past five years, according to IRI data, the category has become one of the fastest growing categories in the cheese categories. For Roth Cheese, this means a chance to give its retail partners a new way to meet consumer demand for high-quality cheeses.
“Response thus far has been great,” Heather concluded. “People are really enjoying its tangy flavor and creamy texture. The flavored varieties have been especially well-received, and we’re excited to add new seasonal flavors to the collection soon.”
