Heather Berger and Sue Gove were recently tapped by the retailer to join its Board, a decision made as a result of one open position, due to the resignation of Itai Wallach on December 14 after three years of service, and a move by the Board to increase its size from six to seven leaders.

Sue Gove, Board Member, The Fresh MarketAccording to a press release, Gove will serve as an Independent Director and comes to The Fresh Market with experience as an International Retail Senior Executive having held roles such as CEO, COO, and CFO.

Currently, Berger serves as Lead Product Specialist for Apollo Global Management and has worked with the company since 2008, having held several other roles. Prior to that, she worked in the Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse Securities (USA). Berger also worked with Capital Z Financial Service Partners, and its affiliate, where she focused on investor relationships and fundraising.

Gove currently serves as President of Excelsior Advisors, which she helped found in 2014. Prior to her current position, she served as Senior Advisor to Alvarez & Marsal.
