Several leading retail banners are bolstering their alliance with grocery innovator Instacart, adopting the company’s innovative Carrot Tags software to provide a more reliable online ordering experience. ALDI, Gelson’s Markets, and Hornbacher’s are among the grocers now leveraging this cutting-edge tech, which helps e-commerce shoppers locate ordered items more precisely, in turn improving order accuracy for Instacart users.

Carrot Tags is Instacart’s software solution that seamlessly integrates into a retailer’s electronic shelf labels (ESL) hardware to enable incremental functionality, including pick to light capabilities, a press release explained.
Carrot Tags is part of Instacart’s Connected Stores suite of technologies, which includes Caper Carts, FoodStorm, Oversight, and more—a comprehensive offering of solutions designed to bridge the online and in-store shopping experience for both retailers and customers.

Samantha Simmons, Director of Operations at Coborn’s banner Hornbacher’s, also commented on the retailer’s adoption of this grocery innovation.
“Since our launch of Carrot Tags last year, we’ve noticed how it’s given our customers who order their groceries online a reliable experience by providing a more accurate order fulfillment process by e-commerce shoppers,” said Simmons. “Additionally, it was fairly easy for us to integrate the software into our existing ESL hardware, making it a smooth rollout across our stores.”
Earlier this year, Instacart also announced the chainwide launch of its Carrot Tags at Schnuck Markets, further bolstering operations for yet another retail partner.
