Alert! Alert! A recent acquisition was made in the retail sector that you will want to know about. It was announced that Harps Food Stores has acquired Beachler’s Hometown Market in Prague, Oklahoma.
“We are excited to welcome Beachler’s to the Harps family,” Kim Eskew, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Harps Food Stores, commented in the statement. “Our goal is to provide the same quality products and exceptional customer service that the Prague community have come to expect.”
Beachler’s is a long-standing, independent grocery retailer that has been part of the Prague community for over 45 years, according to the press release.
As part of the deal, Harps plans to retain the current staff. The store will close at the end of its business day on April 9 and will reopen on April 13 as Harps.
“Since 1978, I have been fortunate and grateful to be a member of the Prague community,” said Keith Beachler, Owner of Beachler’s. “Departing after such a lengthy period is difficult, but it is now time for me to retire. After reviewing several options, I feel that Harps is by far the best option for our great employees as well as an outstanding business partner for the city of Prague.”
Currently, Harps operates a total of 143 store locations in surrounding states, including Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Kansas.
