Hudson Valley Creamery Takes First Place in Two Categories at World Championship Cheese Contest

Hudson Valley Creamery, a member of Norseland's co-operative of dairy farmers, saw great success at the World Championship Cheese Contest. While in Madison, Wisconsin, the cheesemaker nabbed two 1st place awards in two different categories.

The Hudson, New York-based cheese producer is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eurial, a French Dairy Cooperative. At the contest, the company won “Best in Class,” achieving the highest score for Couturier Vanilla Bean Goat Log in the Soft Goats Milk Cheeses, Flavored with Sweet Condiments category.

Additionally, the cheesemaker’s Couturier Cranberry Fresh Goat Cheese Crumbles also placed the highest in the Shredded (Crumbled) Flavored and Unflavored category.

Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association hosted the competition, which saw 2,978 cheeses from 29 nations around the world. As noted in the release, the multi-day event is regarded by many within the industry as one of the most prestigious cheese competitions in the world.
