As the Winter Warlock would say, just put one foot in front of the other, and soon you’ll be walking out the door. That is exactly what Linda Karaffa has done as she closes out a 43-year run in the industry. The Vice President of Norseland recently announced that she will be retiring from the role on December 31, 2022.
During her tenure, Karaffa had a key role in establishing and structuring TINE's subsidiary, Norseland USA, which is known globally for its Jarlsberg® cheese sales. She was instrumental in securing Norseland as a “Preferred Importer” in America, a press release stated.
Karaffa also served as the first VP on the Board of Directors for The Cheese Importers Association, a non-profit trade association dedicated to importing, selling, promoting, and distributing cheese in the United States. She has been a highly valued member of Westconn International Trade Association for more than 30 years and was a member of the Board of Directors and President of the organization from 1991 to 1993.
John J. Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer and President of Norseland, had some kind words to share about the retiring VP.
“Linda’s steadfast support has helped strengthen Norseland over the last 4 decades. She has been an integral part of transforming Norseland from a small sales office to a full dairy organization. Linda’s dedication and drive will be missed,” said Sullivan.
Unni Sjøflot, International TINE SA Sales, also commented.
“Linda has always shown her pride and dedication for Jarlsberg® cheese, Norwegian Specialty, and our farmers/owners,” stated Sjøflot.
In retirement, Linda and her husband plan to enjoy their grandchildren, golfing, and traveling, the press release added.
Congratulations on your retirement!
