Make room on the trophy case! North Country Smokehouse has nabbed a prestigious recognition, as the Specialty Food Association (SFA) honored the meat provider with a coveted sofi™ Award for the New Product category.
North Country gained well-deserved recognition in the New Product category for its new-to-market Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Uncured Bacon. The innovative product is handcrafted with expertise and a commitment to excellence, demonstrating North Country Smokehouse’s respect for people, animals, and the environment.
The sofi Awards, short for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation, recognizes creativity and culinary excellence within the specialty food industry. According to a press release, judging for the 51st annual sofi Awards took place at the Food Innovation Center at Rutgers University, the esteemed partner of SFA. Entries were evaluated based on anonymous tastings across 53 categories, judged on flavor, appearance, texture, aroma, ingredient quality, and innovation. North Country was among 97 exceptional specialty food products that received Gold and New Product trophies.
The Product of the Year Award and New Product of the Year Award winners will be featured at the 2023 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, which kicks off on June 25.
