When I first tried Nowadays plant-based chicken nuggets, my world was rocked. The company achieves a delicious flavor profile and authentic texture with its products, and now the company is expanding its portfolio. In 2023, Nowadays will be launching its new “whole cut” cutlets and tenders.
Director for Product Development, Chris Johnson, joined the team earlier this year, and these will be the first items to launch under his guidance. He formerly served as a member of the Culinary Innovation team at Wendy’s and Popeye’s, among other ventures.
According to a press release, the new products mark a major moment for Nowadays as it expands its offerings and introduces new products that can be easily adapted into its customers’ everyday meals and a variety of foodservice offerings. Nowadays previewed its new cutlets and tenders for the first time at this year’s Plant Based World Expo, before the products launch to the public in early 2023.
The natural-cut, homestyle tenders are packed with non-GMO pea protein and tossed in a savory homestyle coating with a peppery finish. Nowadays’ proprietary technology creates a natural cut of plant-based meat that mimics animal-based protein without stamps or uniform shapes. The cutlets feature a crispy panko-style breading with a craveable crunch and a blend of savory spices with hints of garlic, cayenne, and pepper.
I am one shopper that can’t wait to get their hands on these new products, and I’m sure yours will feel the same.
