It’s no longer a secret: Consumers are after gluten-free options. As most competitors have stepped into the gluten-free ring, Pepperidge Farm® remained suspiciously silent—until now. For the first time since its inception in 1937, the brand is introducing two gluten-free options: Farmhouse Thin & Crispy Milk Chocolate Chip and Butter Crisp.
“The snacking industry has evolved over time and in our 80-plus year history, Pepperidge Farm has consistently listened to our consumers and retail partners to understand what our emerging needs, trends, and how we can better meet these needs or even improve on them,” Janda Lukin, Chief Marketing Officer for Campbell’s Snacks informed USA Today.
These two cookie options will debut this month in select grocers nationwide, including Target, Albertsons, and Publix. Alongside the new products, Pepperidge Farm is also debuting fresh packaging.
“We chose a completely different carton to package our Gluten-Free Farmhouse cookies to help distinguish these products from the rest of the Farmhouse cookies that do contain gluten,” Lukin said.
