Prairie Farms Cheeses Announces Top Finishes at American Cheese Society Competition; Mike Christenson Comments


EDWARDSVILLE, IL

After the recent conclusion of the American Cheese Society Competition, Prairie Farms has exciting news to share. The cheesemaker announced that it earned a trio of top marks for its cheeses in the Low Fat/Low Salt Cheeses and American Made/International Style categories.

I’m thankful for the Prairie Farms dairy farmer community support in providing our team with the highest quality milk.”

According to a press release, these awards included the following. In the category titled JR: Light/Lite and Reduced Fat Cheeses, Prairie Farms took home first place for its Neufchâtel. In the category titled DE: Emmental-style with Eye Formation (Swiss, Baby Swiss, Block, Wheels) – made from cow’s milk, Prairie Farms took home second place for its Swiss Cheese.
