Publix to Open New Store at Fuqua’s Madison Yards Complex

Publix to Open New Store at Fuqua’s Madison Yards Complex

ATLANTA, GA
Tuesday, June 4th, 2019

Publix is going toe to toe with Kroger in the Atlanta, GA, market, recently announcing the opening of a 50,000-square-foot store at Fuqua Development’s under-construction, mixed-use development, Madison Yards. Set to open June 26, according to Curbed Atlanta, the new store will give Kroger a run for its money in an already crowded urban environment.

The new store will be located less than a mile from the relatively new, Glenwood Park-adjacent Kroger location, dubbed “Krobar” by residents.

The soon-to-open Publix store will be one of the retailer’s largest Atlanta locations. However, Kroger shoppers may argue that Kroger’s Poncey-Highland store is supposed to be slightly larger.

Taking place on the fast-evolving Memorial Drive corridor, this news about the Beltline and the upcoming Publix represents just a fraction of the action.
