Publix has been expanding throughout the Mid Atlantic for some time now, opening multiple stores in North Carolina in October, and another in South Carolina under its GreenWise Market banner earlier this month. Now, the retailer is moving south along the Eastern Seaboard, expanding the GreenWise Market brand in Lakeland, and Boca Raton, Florida, bringing the total GreenWise Market store count to twelve.
“Lakeland is our hometown, and Boca Raton was home to a former Publix GreenWise Market prototype until earlier this month,” said President Kevin Murphy. “Our customers in these communities have been excited to see the difference between what they’ve come to know about us and what we’ve created for them. Our teams are looking forward to sharing this new experience with everyone who comes through our doors.”
According to the press release, shoppers can expect the specialty, natural, and organic store to have the banner's usual large selection of prepared foods made from organic and antibiotic-free ingredients. The stores are divided into experience zones with simple names like CUTS, FINDS, and POURS, a beverage area where customers can purchase a glass of wine, local beer, locally roasted coffee, or other selections to enjoy as they shop.
The Boca Raton store is located at 8210 Glades Road in the Lakeside Centre shopping plaza while the Lakeland store is located at 4747 S. Florida Ave. in the Lake Miriam Crossing shopping center. Both the stores feature murals by local artists.
