With Wisconsin being well-known as a specialty cheese state, earning recognition in the region can contribute significantly to brand growth. Roth Cheese® is poised for further success, recently earning six awards at the 2021 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Contest. Roth’s signature Alpine-style cheeses, Roth Grand Cru® Reserve, and Roth Grand Cru Original took home all awards in the Smear Ripened Cheese category.

Tim Omer, President and Managing Director, Roth Cheese®“The last year has given dairy manufacturers a chance to fine-tune their flavor profiles, and we knew the competition was going to be tough,” said Tim Omer, President and Managing Director for Roth Cheese. “We are always proud of the work our team is doing, and getting recognized in our own back yard is an especially exciting accolade.”

Additionally, the cheesemaker took home first and third place in the Blue Veined category with Roth Buttermilk Blue® and Roth Gorgonzola, as well as third place in the Flavored Hard Cheese category with Roth Canela. This year’s winning cheesemakers will be recognized during the Blue Ribbon Dairy Products Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair on Thursday, August 12.

Dairy manufacturers from across the state participated in this year’s competition, which took place June 24 at the Wisconsin State Fair Park, a press release stated. This is the second recent category sweep for Roth Cheese, which took home the top three awards in the Smear Ripened category at the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest in 2017.

Roth’s award-winning cheeses can be found in the deli case at grocers, in fine cheese shops throughout the U.S., and online via Instacart or online grocery.

Congratulations to Roth Cheese on these triumphs!
